For YEARS WE have been oppressed, mistreated, negatively judged and even MURDERED because of the colour of our skin. When I say WE, I’m referring to BLACK lives. Enough is enough, it’s time we use our voices, it’s time we take action because we need change, we need justice, we need peace!
The recent murder of George Floyd in the United States has reminded us of the injustice that we experience daily and has brought people together, black people around the world to use their voices to fight for change. I won’t lie, I started losing hope for us because it has been years and little has changed, but not anymore. 2020 is OUR year and I’m speaking it into existence!
Black entrepreneurs, creators, entertainers, the list goes on and on always have to work 10x harder in order to succeed. Today I’m highlighting 10 Black Owned Brands that I support, would love to support, admire and love that I think you should too! Support all Black Owned Businesses today!
1. Fenty Beauty
Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is one of my favorite beauty brands! Black women and men are often left out in the beauty community. Many beauty brands do not make an effort to create shades and products that compliment our beautiful skin tone, but Fenty Beauty keeps every single race, complexion and person in mind when creating their products. Bad Gal Rih Rih always gives back to the community and that’s another reason I’ll always support her brands.
2. Riot Swim
For years I have been following African American mom and entrepreneur, Monti Landers (@thefull_monti) on Instagram and have fell in love with her brand Riot Swim! Riot Swim has great, sexy, minimalistic swimwear for island girls like myself! I have not purchased from Riot Swim as yet but I’m currently eyeing a lilac two piece set they are launching soon and I’m excited because I have also heard great things about the quality of their swimwear!
3. Krishtun
Barbadian designer, Christian Gibbs hands are blessed hunty! Krishtun has crotchet, denim and chain designs which are amazing and to die for! My favorite piece is currently Venus, a summer must have!
4. Aesthetics
Kittitian brand, Aesthetics by Kirteisha Carty offers various beauty products locally on St.Kitts and Nevis! From Makeup to skincare and they even have their own lash line! We love to see it! #SupportLocal

6. YAT Concierge
We’re going to be catching flights, not feelings once this pandemic is over and travel plans can be easily done with the help of YAT Conceirge by Yorie Taylor! I have used YAT Conceirge right here in St.Kitts and Nevis and they were very professional and affordable!
